Literature and Additional Information
It can be tricky to find the right material for the chemicals you use – not all cleaning agents interact with tubing the same. But there are some constants on which we can rely – direct sun degrades polyethylene more quickly than nylon, SpotFree™ doesn’t do well with polyethylene and barbed fittings with nylon tubing is a recipe for leaks. What we can do is try to apply what we know about our tubing to help you get the right fit for your wash.
Freelin-Wade only offers LLDPE tubing in our polyethylene line, providing a superior solution at a competitive price. Switching to LLDPE will help reduce wash downtime and maintenance.
Freelin-Wade flexible nylon tubing offers several advantages over LLDPE. We use a UV stabilized resin to help extend the life of the tube even when exposed to direct sunlight. Nylon also has a wider temperature range, both hot and cold, for better stability and serviceability in extreme outdoor environments. Lastly, nylon tubing has higher working pressures than LLDPE tubing. Nylon tubing will help increase the functional life of your tubing, reducing your upkeep costs.
Freelin-Wade can custom build coils to your specifications, in color-coded, bonded configurations or as single lines. Whether you need the chemical resistance of a nylon coil or a polyurethane tube that is more kink and abrasion resistant, with fittings or without, we can help you get the coils you need to keep your bays running smoothly.
Car Wash Linear Low-Density Polyethylene Tubing vs LDPE Tubing
Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) is a blended form of Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE). This form of polyethylene tubing provides much more flexibility, tensile strength, and more conformability than traditional LDPE. The greatest advantage of LLDPE over LDPE is its superior environmental crack resistance, or ESCR. Environmental stresses that can affect the longevity of LDPE tubing include chemical exposure, aging, connection to barb-type fittings, and high-vibration connections with compression fittings.Freelin-Wade only offers LLDPE tubing in our polyethylene line, providing a superior solution at a competitive price. Comparing Nylon Tubing and LLDPE Tubing for Car Washes
Nylon tubing is a unique kind of tubing made from polyamide resin. This material is known for its outstanding chemical, abrasion, impact, and moisture resistance and dimensional stability. Freelin-Wade’s nylon resins allow for a lighter-weight wall, greater flexibility, and a smaller bend radius. It also offers higher corrosion resistance than other types of nylon tubing, thanks to its resistance to moisture absorption.Freelin-Wade flexible nylon tubing offers several advantages over LLDPE. Why Use Retractable Coiled Car Wash Tubing in your Wash Bays?
Recoil tubing, either nylon or polyurethane, is a great way to help make the wash bay experience better for your customers and reduce wear and tear on your tube lines. Coils self-retract to stay out of the way of tires and out of pools of water and chemicals on the wash bay floor. They are also less prone to kinks, and can be built with strain guards to further help reduce wear on the coils.Freelin-Wade can custom build coils to your specifications, in color-coded, bonded configurations or as single lines.
