Single Tube PU Coil Tubing
Single tube PU coil tubing provides the extreme flexibility that is necessary for completing a wide range of projects. Its excellent kink resistance and outstanding memory make it the ideal choice for projects that require repeat bending and twisting of the tubing. In addition, the ether-based nature of the polyurethane material allows the spiral tubing to last longer than basic standard plastic tubing products.
Contact Freelin-Wade for Fre-Thane® single tube polyurethane coils for your spiral tube application needs. Additionally, for your multiple PU coil tubing needs, we also offer multi-tube Fre-Thane® coil tubing.

Ether-Base vs. Ester-Base PU Coil Tubing Products
Polyurethane was developed in 1937 by German chemist Friedrich Bayer. It quickly gained popularity as a replacement for rubber during World War II, while its first commercial application came as a fiber in the stretchable, lightweight fabric that would eventually be known as Spandex. There are now two standard classes of polyurethane, ether-base and ester-base, which are popular for countless applications across various industries. Chemically, both are comprised of the same basic ingredients: polyol alcohol and isocyanate. The difference is in the type of polyol used, ester or ether. Both produce similar, but different, reactions when combined with isocyanate.
Generally, ester-based polyurethane is less expensive; however, it degrades far more rapidly when exposed to moisture than the ether-based alternative. For this reason, Freelin-Wade manufactures all our Fre-Thane® polyurethane single tube spiral plastic tubing from ether-based resins.
Advanced PU Spiral Tube Applications
